Welcome to Find Veronica Blumhorst

Thank you for visiting our site. We hope that you can offer us information as to what happened to Veronica Jill Blumhorst.
Veronica was last seen in the early morning hours on Thursday, Sept. 20, 1990 leaving her place of employment. in Mendota, Illinois.
Shortly after 1 a.m., Veronica drove from her job as a grocery store clerk to her home just blocks away. Later that morning her car was found secured in her garage, however, there were no signs of the 21-year-old Mendota High School graduate.
Later that day, an extensive search of the Mendota area was conducted by police and a large group of volunteers, family and friends. We are also very sad to say that police have no leads as to what happened to Veronica. No arrests have been made and police have no suspects. All we know is that Veronica has not been seen for 17 years and we miss her very much and need to know what happened to her.
Please feel free to leave comments here. With no leads of any kind, any information would be helpful.

Words are inadequate to describe the pain, lonliness, and anguish that our family has gone through. When our Grandparents passed away the most comforting thought was that they finally knew where she was.

There has been good that has come out of this ordeal. I'm much closer to my family now. We hug more. We take the time to say I LOVE YOU. We cherish more, love more and care more.

Veronica was one of my best friends. We grew up together and got into trouble together. While some beast may have taken her, he didn't take the memories that we have of her. Of how her eyes sparkled when she got the least bit excited. How she loved to listen to John Cougar Mellencamp. How she was a hopeless romantic. Veronica was a friend to all and someone I have missed every day for the past 17 years.

I just wish she was here for us to hug, love and cherish.

Todd, I'm very sorry that you've had to go through this nightmare. I was a classmate of Veronica's and continue to miss her dearly. Our class's 20-year reunion is coming up and it will be on everyone's mind. . . "what happened to her" or "where is she?" I just wish someone would fess up so we could have peace of mind. However, having her back would be the best solution.

Todd, I remember the day the whole town of Mendota got word of Veronica simply "vanishing". I remember my family and friends at Mendota High talking about how we'd always see her at the grocery store and how nice she was and what could have possibly happened that she made it home, car in the garage. I remember not knowing anything about her boyfriend, and I remember going with my family to put pink ribbons on trees around Mendota. I am truly sorry for your family's loss, I pray this will be solved sometime soon.

Todd, I remember your sister Veronica with great fondness and think of her often. Carolyn was in my class (1982 MHS) and I lived down the street from you when we were all growing up. I remember when your family moved to Mendota I think it was in 1974? Carolyn and I used to walk to school together; your mom sold Avon and your Dad, Paul, worked for the local Fire Dept. with my brother Dave who was a volunteer fireman.

I had long left the Mendota area when Veronica went missing, but my brother kept me informed during the first year or so of the investigation. I am so sorry for your family's pain.

Veronica is remembered and we still feel the loss.

Todd, I came across Veronias' story, and first I want to express how sorry I am, and, like others have said, there really isn't words to express the sadness felt here. Yesterday, I traveled to that wooded area, and drove by the boyfreinds house, and thought about the so-called invesigation. So many questions that will go forever unanswered.

Todd, I am so sorry that they have not solved your sister's case yet. I live in Mendota, I remember hearing the news about your sister.I was barely a teenager when it happened but I have an older sister & couldn't imagine waking up & her not being there. I'm writing because I just finished watching a TV show called Disappeared on the ID channel. I don't know if you've heard of it, it's about people who have disappeared w/ out a trace. I thought maybe u could contact them about your sister. I'm not sure how the investigation has been going but maybe this will help bring some attention to the case. I hope you & your family get the answers you've deserved for so long now. I'm sure your sister is very proud of you for the person you have become.
